A small hiatus

Published by Scott under News,Uncategorized

Greetings!

The Secret GardenThe Northern Druid Podcast will be on a small hiatus this winter, because I will be busy rehearsing for the Duluth Playhouse production of The Secret Garden.  The winter has been a busy one, and I need to be realistic with my time and focus.

Rest assured, after the show (which takes place between February 17 and March 7), I will bring you more interesting news, music, and druid meditations from the North Woods!

Also, if you live in or near Duluth, come to The Secret Garden.  I have a very interesting role as the father of Mary Lennox (the lead youth character).  I die early in the show, but come back frequently as a ghost who sings and narrates with a company of other “relatives” of Mary’s.

Caribou at Denali

Winter Solstice is the celebration of the Longest Night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.  It is the time of the “coming of the light” which guides us to new beginnings – often out of our darknesses and tragic circumstances.

This Winter Solstice Meditation will focus on survival, migration, renaming, reclaiming, and transforming our energy bodies.  We will use the metaphor of the Reindeer, or Caribou’s journey into the long night and beyond – through places she has known for many lifetimes.  These places are sacred and alive – they have long-standing place names that were given to them by the first people, and the “first spirits.”

Walk with the Caribou on this longest night, through the snow, the hills, the trees, and visit her resting places.  Reclaim your own light and your own journey, and call it by its rightful name, given to you by your inner spirit.

Come walk this long night.  Come celebrate the coming of the light, and the transformation that awaits!
